"Backlight" - 6" x 6", acrylic on canvas panel, NFS.
Initially this was just going to be the underpainting (or sketch work in paint). But I paused and looked and looked some more and decided I liked it enough that I should really stop. I'm glad I listened to my internal editor.
Information about this project is here. If you're a new visitor, I also have a fine art website and a Facebook page.
Love this!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joan!
DeleteLove that you've painted the same scene six times already. Your project captivates me. I love the magical juxtaposition of simplicity and complexity here; my eyes just keeping moving around and around taking in shapes, colors, textures, light, shadow, and mystery.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks Dotty! Part of painting the same thing all month is because I was worried about the pressure of figuring out what to paint each day on top of the pressure to paint each day would be too much. Having rules for myself (a limited palette and a single subject) lets me be more creative. Glad you are enjoying my work so far!
DeleteReally loving your work Barb! I think this is just perfect as is, so glad you stopped. Love your plan for the month. I really think this one would work at any angle. Happy month to you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sheila! I got some strange looks from friends when I explained that I was going to make the same painting 30 times. :) Glad you liked this one. Sometimes knowing when to set down the brush is the hardest part!
