Day 22: Hibernaculum
"Hibernaculum" - 6" x 6", acrylic on canvas panel. -- SOLD.
Information about this project, about Shipping (very important), and about redeeming Gift Certificates is here.
We here in Maryland are about to get crushed by winter storm Jonas (when did we start naming blizzards?). The prediction for some areas is 30+ inches of snow. Although I am hopeful that Southern Maryland will not get quite so much, I am planning to drive to my "day job" tonight with food, clothes, winter gear, and a sleeping bag, so I can stay at the office all weekend if need be. I will pick up painting where I left off on Monday and paint a several days into February to complete the project.
If you're a new visitor, I also have a fine art website and a Facebook page.

Barbara, magnificent! Colors and composition are compelling, and I love, love, love the level of abstraction. It feels like it's PERFECTLY equipoised.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes with Jonas. Indeed, when DID we start naming blizzards? What's your 'day job'?
Cheers, Dotty
Hey Dotty, I'm glad you liked this one. My day job is weekendvreceptionist at a 24 hour emergency veterinary clinic. I just hope I can get back to my house Sunday or Monday. My husband will be stuck there with the kids all weekend.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes with the storm. How much snow do you have?
DeleteIt's hard to say with all the wind and drifting. Between 12-16 inches at my house, closer to 18 inches at work.
DeleteBarbara, I love this. It reminds me of those early mornings in winter when the hoar frost sparkles on the trees in the sun. Good luck with the snow storm this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Anna!
DeleteHope the storm is not as bad as they are predicting :) I love, LOVE the pretty popping color everywhere! I agree with Dotty, the composition is just perfect. What a cool direction to take your trees! Hope your weekend passes safely for the peoples and the garanimals :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sheila! We made it though the rough weather. :)
