Reflection on rejection

In the wake of a successful spring paint-out, I sent out a some applications: one for an exhibition of nature art, one for an art festival, and one for a competitive plein air event near where I live. All three of my rejections letters have now arrived. I'm sharing this on the blog, not because I'm upset or angry, but because rejection is an experience common to all artists. Yes, I had a great experience at Paint Snow Hill that led to gallery representation.....and then I couldn't beg my way into another art event this year. Such is life. Back to the studio!
